CROW AGENCY- Repair crews have restored water service to Crow Agency and the hospital has reopened, but residents are still urged to boil water for drinking.
Residents may shower from the tap, but the water may still be contaminated from a Bureau of Indian Affairs water line break reported Friday, according to tribal spokesman Justin Stewart.
The Crow / Northern Cheyenne Hospital in Crow Agency will also resume accepting patients Tuesday after diverting people to other facilities starting Friday.
The hospital will resume service on a limited basis, which includes the emergency room, dental services and patient care.
The EPA and BIA are testing the water in Crow Agency and will lift the boil water notice once the water is safe to drink, Crow officials said.
The EPA and the Crow Water Resource Office are flushing and decontaminating the community’s water distribution tank, which could take as long as a week, Stewart said.
Bottled water is available at Crow Agency Fire Hall, south of the Little Big Horn College.
