BUTTE – Police in Butte are investigating a fatal accident that occurred early Friday on Dewey Boulevard near Lexington Avenue.
Sheriff Ed Lester says a man on a motorcycle died after a crash between him and a passenger car that was reported shortly before 2 a.m. The car involved left the scene and police are searching for the vehicle.
The suspect vehicle is believed to be a black 2014 Subaru XV with a possible Montana license plate 1-23956A. The vehicle was northbound on Lexington as it left the scene.
Law enforcement will be investigating at the scene for several more hours and people are asked to avoid the area if possible.
