The Broadwater County Sheriff's Office says an investigation is underway after a body was discovered south of Townsend.
According to a release by Sheriff Wynn Meehan, the body of a man was discovered just off Highway 287 around 7:30 a.m. Friday, April 17.
Sheriff Meehan says the investigation is active and involves multiple agencies.
The Sheriff's Office says they have been able to identify the body and will release that information following notification of next of kin.
No other information has been released, include the age of the individual or a possible cause or manner of death.
