GREAT FALLS — Firefighters at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls are using their free time for a good cause.

When duty calls, the firefighters at Malmstrom Air Force Base are always ready to serve, and some even serve off the clock. The firefighters are taking wooden boards and turning them into American Flags for a good cause.

“These American flags, out of old wood, are made from plates and things like that. What we are trying to do with them is raise funds four our firefighter association and what those fund -- directly pay for -- is going away flags, axes and comprehensive items for when people PCS, or retire from Malmstrom,” SRA Dallin Wilson explained.

Most of the firemen say they have one common goal in mind, "to put it as simple…and [in] the purest form of anyone’s answer is, that they just want to serve,” Wilson said.

The flags are just some one way to give back, selling these flags is a way to pay back some of that…effort. Some of that passion that they have," Wilson said.

The firemen are always looking for donations of wood and paint brushes.
