HELENA — The Montana Army National Guard will host a Call of Duty: Warzone esports tournament for Montana residents age 17-to-34 on Aug. 19.

The tournament was originally scheduled for Aug. 5, but a lack of participation forced the organizers to push back the event.

Sergeant Tucker Zimmerman said they came up with the idea after seeing a similar event take place online on the east coast.

"They said it did really well on the streaming platform, got a lot of people's interaction. I want to see that for Montana, of course," said Zimmerman. "We kind of started putting a competition together and that's what we came up with. It might change a little bit."

The tournament will be held solely online and will run from noon to 4 p.m. on Aug. 19. For more information, please clickhere.
