Normally, about 1,200 people would be dressed in costumes, ready to run the annual Run For Your Life 5k and kids' race.

But this year, the race looks a little different as it switched to a virtual race to still raise money for the Help Center in Bozeman.

Organizers were shocked but ecstatic they were able to still raise more than $62,000 with about half of the number of participants than in previous years.

Participants were able to pick up their packets and t-shirts on Friday to run their own race anywhere they chose.

“The community has just come out in full force to support us. We’ve been so amazed to be able to raise about 80 percent of our regular fundraising amount, and people can still donate if they’d like to and contribute to the cause,” said Flora McCormick, a volunteer with the Help Center.

Registration for the race is still being accepted through Sunday, and donations are still appreciated. For either option, you can visit here.
