An outpouring of support continued in Selena Not Afraid's hometown of Hardin on Thursday night.

More than 200 family, friends and community members gathered at the Hardin High School to remember the 16-year-old.

Search crews found her body on Monday , after she went missing on New Year's Day near a rest area off Interstate 90 between Hardin and Billings.

The family and Crow tribal leaders are also asking for the Montana Department of Justice's Division of Criminal Investigation to take over this case.

Family members made that announcement along with saying it has hired a private investigator and an attorney.

But the night was about everyone coming together for for prayers, stories and songs.

"I felt that we needed this here in Hardin for Selena," said Erica Stops, Not Afraid's aunt.

Stops, who organized the vigil, was pleased by the turnout, “just to show that she was loved makes my heart happy.”

Not Afraid was also remembered earlier this week at a vigil on the University of Montana campus in Missoula.
