KALISPELL The US Forest Service Flathead Avalanche Center in Kalispell has issued a backcountry avalanche warning.
The warning runs until 8 p.m. on Friday and covers the Flathead Range, Whitefish Range, Swan Range and Glacier National Park.
The avalanche danger for the warning area is Considerable and is expected to rise to High.
The Center cautions that very dangerous avalanche conditions exist and travel on and below steep slopes is not recommended.
