President Trump speech draws protestors outside MetraPark

Posted

BILLINGS- “Stop Kavanaugh.” “Journalists are not the enemy.” “America is Great.”

Those were just some of the signs that were seen entering MetraPark Thursday afternoon, held by protestors lined up near Fourth Avenue North and Main Street.

Many seemed to be individuals not with any particular group, although they did expect some union members to join them. Some talked about their concerns with the Trump administration.

“Not allowing transgender persons in the military anymore,” said Christl Domina. “And I don’t like all the specific incidents of how he speaks of women.”

“His friendship with Kim Jong Un, his friendship with Russia with Putin,” said Daniel Struckman. “Those things concern me a lot.”

“Trump has told the Postal Commission to hold the report until after the elections,” said Michelle Nielsen. “And our (postal carriers) national president says that’s because Trump wants to sell off the Post Office and I’m out here to protest that.”

The protestors said they hoped Trump saw them at the entrance, and their plan was to stay out during the speech.
