President Trump addressed Senator Steve Daines in a Tweet on Saturday.
I have asked Steve Daines, our great Republican Senator from Montana, to attend his daughter Annie’s wedding rather than coming to today’s vote. Steve was ready to do whatever he had to, but we had the necessary number. To the Daines Family, congratulations-have a wonderful day!

He explained he asked Daines to attend his daughter’s wedding rather than go to the Kavanaugh vote, stating he knew they already had the necessary votes to confirm the new Supreme Court justice.
President Trump also thanked Daines for be willing to do “whatever he had to” in order to ensure Kavanaugh’s victory and congratulated Daines’ daughter Annie on her big day.
