MISSOULA – Republican Party sources have confirmed with MTN News that President Donald Trump is planning to visit Missoula on Thursday, October 18.

The Missoula County Sheriff’s Office says in a social media post that they have “have been invited to a meeting by the US Secret Service addressing security measures in the event of a potential Presidential visit to Missoula, MT. ”

President Trump has visited Billings and Great Falls in recent weeks to support Republican US Senate candidate Matt Rosendale in his efforts to unseat incumbent Democratic US Senator Jon Tester.

Montanans for Tester spokesman Luke Jackson released the following statement in reaction to President Trump’s upcoming visit to Missoula.

“Senator Tester thinks President Trump’s visit to Montana could be a great opportunity to discuss the challenges facing rural America by visiting Montana veterans facilities. President Trump should visit the future site of the Southwest Montana Veterans Home that Matt Rosendale voted against and Jon Tester fought for. Or head up to Columbia Falls to see the veterans home there that Rosendale voted against funding. Because while Jon Tester is fighting for Montana every day, Matt Rosendale is only looking out for himself.”

President Trump’s son Donald Trump, Jr. recently spent time visiting the Bitterroot.

This is a developing story.
