WASHINGTON, D.C. – Former Interior Secretary and Montana Congressman Ryan Zinke is starting a new job, being named as a “managing director” at a North Carolina-based investment firm.
Zinke is moving into the private sector after working just over a year and a half for President Donald Trump as the U.S. Interior Secretary, an appointment that came within just a few years of the former Navy SEAL entering political life as a Montana legislator.
The Hill reports Zinke will be working now with Artillery One, which focuses on a wide range of investments, including financial technology, energy and cybersecurity.
In a statement, Artillery One CEO Daniel Cannon said Zinke will continue to “follow the vision” of President Trump by promoting economic development and jobs here in the US and overseas.
Zinke is expected to be able to base out of Whitefish, but will likely be doing considerable travel.
Under the President’s ethics policy, Zinke will be prohibited for lobbying Interior for five years, and the rest of the administration, for the duration of Trump’s time in the White House.
