A 5.8-magnitude earthquake was recorded off the coast of Puerto Rico early Monday morning, the USGS reports.

The earthquake's epicenter was recorded at 8 miles south-southeast of the coastal town of Indios.

The earthquake also jolted nearby Carribean countries like The Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Haiti and Turks and Caicos.

There's no word yet of any injuries or damage sustained.

For perspective, a 2010 earthquake in Haiti that ultimately killed hundreds of thousands of people and did billions in damage was measured at a 7.0 magnitude.

More on this as it develops.
