FLORENCE – It looks like it will be another day before some students at Florence Carlton School will be able to return to their regular classrooms.

School officials report that thanks to some extra help they have made good progress in clearing the massive amount of snow off of the roof of the K-2 building.

Volunteers from the Jackson Contracting Group hit the roof on Tuesday to help school officials remove the snow.

The building was closed — and students were moved elsewhere on campus — on Monday due to concerns about the weight of the snow on the roof of the K-2 building.

An inspector is expected to be on sight on Wednesday to double check the building to make sure that it’s safe for students to return.
