FLORENCE – Some people heading to and from school in Florence will have to find a new route.
Florence Carlton School Superintendent Bud Scully notified parents on Sunday evening that Old Highway 93 is closed to all traffic just north of Tie Chute Lane after a creek undercut the roadway.
The closure is prompting some changes for parents dropping students off at the Florence Carlton School campus as drivers will not be able to use Old Highway 93 to head north.
School officials ask that to avoid congestion on Long Avenue, drivers should go left on Tie Chute and up to Florence-Carlton Loop and then back to Holloway to get back onto Highway 93.
Ravalli County crews hope to have the road repaired by Monday evening.
