STEVENSVILLE – Local officials are issuing a warning in Stevensville following a weekend sighting of a bear.
The Stevensville Police Department issued a warning Sunday that a black bear cub was seen in the area of the fishing access.
Cubs are almost always accompanied by their mother and authorities note that a sow with a cub can be dangerous.
Anyone who spots a bear in the Stevensville area is asked to contact Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks or the Stevensville Police Department at (406) 777-3011.
People should not approach the cub.
