VICTOR — Things are starting to get spooky down in the Bitterroot.

The Field of Screams on US Highway 93 in Victor is almost ready for visitors! It will open up at 4 p.m. Friday for children's activities.

During the daylight hours, the corn maze and pumpkin patch will be open, along with wagon rides and hay playground. But after dark, the haunters come out and things get scarier.

Owner Sandy Kirkland says they have been preparing since March, tilling the ground and getting the pumpkins ready, hoping they would be able to open. She says they're lucky the business is outside, so they haven't had to make too many adjustments.

"Maybe a little bit different, scarier masks, but we've been wearing masks for 21 years, so we're prepared for that," Kirkland said. "We usually have them stand far enough away so people can't even touch them, just because they don't want to get hit. So they automatically are standing a good six feet plus away anyway. So that's been really good and beneficial for us."

There are areas where they are asking people to wear masks, and they've made sure groups will be distanced.

Field of Screams will be open all month long.
