Sanders County Sheriff
Sanders County Sheriff Tom Rummel was looking for a third term as the county’s top lawman on Election Day. The latest numbers show that Rummel won by a 73%-to-27% margin.
He’s being challenged by Darlene Lee a retired Montana Highway Patrol Trooper who spent a dozen years with the MHP.
Rummel cites starting a Chaplain’s program, community watch program, adding a drug dog, and establishing evacuation plans for wildfires as a list of accomplishments over his two terms as Sheriff.
Sanders County Commissioner
The Sanders County Commissioner race has Paul Fielder challenging incumbent Carol Brooker who has been commissioner for the last 23 years.
Brooker will be staying on the commission after the latest numbers showing that she won on Election Day by a 53%-to-47% margin.
Fielder is a retired wildlife biologist and his wife Jennifer is a senator in the Montana Legislature.
