1 person hurt after train, pickup truck collide near Alberton

ALBERTON – Emergency crews responded to the scene of an accident involving a pickup truck and a train near Alberton at around 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

The Frenchtown Rural Fire District is on the scene of the crash which happened between the Cyr and Fish Creek exits off of Interstate 90.

Fire officials report that a male was taken by ambulance to St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula. The Montana Highway Patrol reports the individual is in stable condition with injuries to his head and ribs.

The vehicle was dragged approximately a ½ mile before the train could stop, according to FRFD. The train tracks in the area were cleared off by 12:30 p.m.

The Montana Highway Patrol is on the scene assisting in the accident investigation.
