Poor driving conditions, accidents reported on I-90 in Missoula area

MISSOULA – Authorities are warning drivers of poor driving conditions between Missoula and East Missoula.

The Missoula County Sheriff’s Office issued a MEANS Alert on Wednesday morning for Interstate 90 between mile marker 100 and mile marker 109 due to multiple crashes in the area.

The Montana Highway Patrol had responded to several accidents in the area of mile marker 102 and mile marker 102 on I-90 westbound. Crashes were also being reported near mile marker 106 and mile marker 107 in Missoula.

Drivers are urged to slow down and use an alternate route if possible.

Earlier on Wednesday an accident in the northbound lanes of US Highway 93 at the Lolo curves heavily delayed traffic headed toward Missoula.

Additionally, the Ravalli County Sheriff’s Office sent out an alert that parts of the Bitterroot had received several inches of snow overnight causing icy road conditions.

The National Weather Service Office in Missoula received reports of anywhere between 3″ and 8″ of snow had fallen overnight in the Bitterroot.

The Missoula Police Department was also reporting slippery road conditions early Wednesday as well as an accident at the intersection of North Reserve and Expressway
