Suspect sought after Missoula, Evaro shooting incidents

MISSOULA – Missoula County Sheriff’s Office Spokesperson Brenda Bassett has confirmed with MTN News that a shooting on US Highway 93 North in the Evaro Hill area is believed to be connected to a Thursday evening shooting near the StoneCreek Lodge on Airway Boulevard in Missoula.

Multiple people were injured in that incident.

Police are advising residents in the Evaro area — and near the Missoula International Airport —  to stay inside their homes and lock their doors.

US Highway 93 North has been closed to traffic between the Wye and mile marker 7 in Evaro. Trains have been halted in the area of the search area, according to Montana Rail Link.

Missoula police say shots were fired on Highway 93 North at mile marker 7 near Evaro Hill early Friday morning. There is currently a heavy police presence on scene. At least one person was taken to a Missoula hospital.

The Missoula Police Department along with the Missoula County Sheriff’s confirms officers are shutting down Highway 93 while they search for a suspect.

Lake County Sheriff Don Bell tells us his department is currently looking for the suspect vehicle in the Arlee area. Lake County deputies are assisting the Montana Highway Patrol and Missoula County law enforcement agencies with the search.
