MHP Trooper shot in Evaro area, search for suspect continues

MISSOULA – The Montana Highway Patrol reports that a trooper was shot early Friday morning in the Evaro area.

“Montana Highway Patrol Trooper was shot early this morning during an incident with a male suspect who is currently at large in the Evaro area,” MHP state in a social media post.

The trooper was taken to a Missoula hospitalized as a result of injuries sustained during the incident. There is no word on the trooper’s condition.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous and all residents in the Evaro area are being told to lock their doors and report any suspicious activity to 911.

US Highway 93 North remains closed north of the Wye to near mile marker 7.
