MISSOULA – A Montana Highway Patrol trooper has been in a Utah area hospital ever since he was shot multiple times outside of Missoula back in March.
Now, after some huge strides in his recovery process, Trooper Wade Palmer can now return home to continue his long recovery process as his home state watches and cheers him on.
The public is invited to view the procession along Broadway between Reserve Street and Saint Patrick Hospital on Wednesday, May 22.
Here is a public timeline for Palmer’s return to Missoula set for Wednesday afternoon.
1:45 p.m. — Trooper Palmer’s flight arrives Missoula at Northstar hangar.
2:00 p.m. — Transit through Missoula with escort. The public is invited to view the procession along Broadway St. between Reserve St. and McCormick St.
Palmer will also have a procession in his hometown of Stevensville.
2:20 p.m. — Transit to Stevensville
Citizens are invited to stand on the pedestrian path between Highway 93 onto Stevensville Cutoff Road into Stevi.
Vehicles are NOT allowed on the pedestrian path and should not park their vehicles on the side of road.
Parking is available at Super 1 Foods, Stevensville River Fishing Access Site and downtown Stevi.
MHP is encouraging people to wear green to support trooper Palmer along both the Missoula and Stevensville routes.
MHP Sgt. Shawn Smally is also asking attendees to please not follow the procession as it moves along its route.
