ARLEE – Since the day he was born Dallas, from Arlee, has been fighting to survive.
One medical mystery after another has puzzled his physicians but he and his mother Amanda refuse to give up.
“We went to see a neurologist in Denver and they told us he has a condition called periventricular leukomalacia. Which means his brain is dying — or was at the time. They didn’t expect him to live to age six,” Amanda Dillard said.
Dallas celebrated his 12th birthday in March and although continuing to live his best life, his family still has lots of questions.
They also want to educate their neighbors so they’ve created a Facebook page, A Day in the Life of Dallas.
Ask questions if you don’t understand something. You know, the biggest thing is people just staring. You know, if you’ve got a question ask us,” Amanda told MTN News.
