The Lake County Sheriff reports they arrested a Pablo man accused of intentionally setting a fire in Pablo.
Sheriff Don Bell reports on Monday around 5:00 p.m., a citizen called 911 to report a fire in the trees north of the old Plum Creek Mill off of Light Road in Pablo. This citizen also observed a suspicious person in the area and reported this to the 911 call center.
Prior to Ronan Fire Department's arrival, a Lake County Deputy Sheriff arrived to assess the fire and determined the fire to be too involved to suppress with his fire extinguisher. Bell says the deputy did locate the suspicious male nearby and his investigation of this person led to his arrest.
He is identified as Julian Draper, a 33-year-old male, of Pablo. He is currently in the Lake County Jail and has been charged with arson.
Bell says Ronan Fire, CSKT Division of Fire, and workers from a nearby job site aided in the suppression of this fire that had potential to become a major incident which could have threatened homes and other buildings.
