HAMILTON — The Bitter Root Humane Association is getting closer to completing its new facility but the shelter could use a little help.

Funds for three-quarters of the project have already been raised and construction on the building is underway next to the old building. The new facility will house everything under one roof, offer more storage, and replace a building that's almost four decades old and showing its age.

"Our current building is 36-years-old and it's falling down around us, so its time for a new one. We are pretty excited. We anticipate sometime between Christmas and Valentine's Day being able to move into the new facility," said Bitter Root Humane Society board member and Capital Campaign Committee chair Sue McCormack.

You can donate to the project at the Bitterroot Humane Association's website.
