Biologists with Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks have updtes on their latest information on the outbreak of Chronic Wasting Disease.

Some were caught off guard last year when CWD began showing up around Libby.

Previously, the only recent cases had been seen in far southeastern Montana.

CWD is a progressive fatal disease which can kill deer, elk and moose.

F-W-P created the Libby CWD Management Zone and has been working with the city, Lincoln County and local hunters to identify the scope of the problem.

Tonight F-W-P staff will present the results from more than 12-hundred samples and what they learned during the hunting season in a public meeting on Monday which starts at 6 p.m. in the Ponderosa Room at Libby City Hall.
