ALBERTON — We are learning more information about a weekend accident on Interstate 90 that claimed the lives of two people.

The crash happened at around 6 p.m. on Saturday on I-90 near mile marker 65 in the Alberton area.

The Montana Highway Patrol reports that a vehicle heading eastbound crossed over the freeway and hit a westbound semi truck head-on.

A 38-year-old woman and an 18-year-old woman in the car -- both from St. John, Washington -- were pronounced dead on the scene.

A 4-year-old child in the vehicle and the semi truck driver were both taken to St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula for treatment.

Everyone involved in the accident was wearing a seatbelt.

MHP reports that alcohol and drugs are not believed to have played a role in the crash -- which remains under investigation.
