The Frenchtown Rural Fire District is responding to a pair of separate wildfires Wednesday evening.

One of the wildfires is located in the Six Mile area. FRFD said it, along with the DNRC, is mopping up the fire which is at a tenth of an acre.

The second fire is located half-a-mile west of Alberton on the north side of the interstate. That fire is estimated to be an acre and crews are currently trying to access the fire. FRFD says it along with Forest Service units are responding and arriving on scene.

We will update this story as more information becomes available.

There are two other known western Montana fires currently ongoing in the Magpie Rock Fire and the Horseshoe Fire.
