HAMILTON — The Bitterroot Chapter of Montana Trout Unlimited has moved its annual auction to an online format.

Director Jeremy Anderson said the decision was made out of COVID-19 pandemic safety concerns.

There are some great things up for auction including guided fishing trips, dining experiences, and all kinds of art.

Proceeds go to river restoration and programming such as the extremely popular Bitterroot Buggers program which teaches kids ages 9-15 the finer points of fly fishing and conservation.

"We usually take about thirty kids in our beginner class and about ten in our advanced. It doesn’t cost anything a thing for them. They learn about tying flys but also about fish habitat about taking care of our waters and the appropriate way to treat everything so they can enjoy it," Anderson said.

You could start viewing the items for auction but the bidding doesn't start until Nov. 12 and ends on Nov. 16.
