MISSOULA — Special Olympics teams from schools all over west-central Montana have gathered for more than 30 years at Lost Trail Pass for the annual Bitterroot Winter Games.
It's a time for the athletes to shine at their favorite events, whether it's downhill skiing, of the challenges of the snowshoe races.
But, it takes a lot of volunteers to make it all work.
Once again this year, game organizers are putting out the call to help with a variety of tasks.
That could be on the mountain helping to run events, feed athletes, of just cheering them on. It doesn't take any special winter sports skills.
If you can't make it up to Lost Trail, there are also opportunities to help with the banquet, which takes place Tuesday evening at Hamilton's Bitterroot River Inn.
If you have some time and you'd like to help, call Carla Christofferson at (406) 363-3028.
