GREAT FALLS — A new grant that could help some small businesses affected by the pandemic is about to become available. Main Street America has partnered with Brother International to create the “At Your Side” program.

Brick-and-mortar businesses in historic or downtown areas in Main Street communities or Urban-Main corridors can apply for grants of $5,000 to $10,000.

The program is designed to provide critical resources and marketing support to small businesses.

"It's a very open-ended usage of the grant. They can be used for rent, for payroll, for modifications to your space you might need to make. So we're really pleased to be able to offer these,” Main Street America CEO Patrice Frey said.

Among the requirements for applicants:

  • The applicant’s business must employ less than 20 full-time employees.
  • The applicant must be an owner of the business.
  • The applicant must be at least age 18 years or older.
  • The applicant’s business must be a for-profit business.

Applications will continue to be accepted through Thursday, Jan. 28. Click here for more details on the website.
