Two people were arrested earlier this week on drug trafficking charges in Northwest Montana.
Flathead County Sheriff Brian Heino reports Kevin Gaethle and Nicole Chappel were arrested on August 14th for possession of dangerous drugs with intent to distribute.
The arrests come after the Northwest Montana Drug Task Force received information over the past eight months that the two were operating a drug trafficking organization in and throughout Northwest Montana.
Between January and March 2019, Kalispell Police Department contacted Gaethle and Chappel on multiple occasions.
Seized during the search warrants was approximately ½ ounce of heroin, over a ¼ pound of methamphetamine and over $42,000 cash.
The Northwest Montana Drug Task Force continued to receive information that Gaethle and Chappel were continuing their efforts of drug distribution in Northwest Montana.
Law enforcement observed Gaethle and Chappel engaging in several drug related activities and on August 13 and August 14 and requested assistance from the Kalispell Police Department to stop their vehicles.
Search warrants were executed on two vehicles, which resulted in additional quantities of methamphetamine and heroin being seized.
Methamphetamine and heroin were found on Gaethle and Chappel’s persons.
Gaethle and Chappel were taken into custody and transported to the Kalispell Police Department for further investigation.
