MISSOULA – The Missoula Federal Credit Union is offering help to their members who are being affected by the ongoing shutdown of the federal government.

First, for existing loans, they are waiving late fees, allowing skipped payments and pushing extensions and forbearance possibilities as far as possible.

Second, they have rolled out an emergency loan for federal employees that is one month’s gross pay, up to $5,000, with no payments for 90 days.

Third, they have a full-time financial counselor on staff to help members think through some of the financial challenges and trade-offs they might be facing. Time with this individual comes at no cost to members.
