MISSOULA — Happy Thursday and happy first day of Spring.

It won’t be official until 9:50 p.m., but today is technically the first day of spring for 2020.

For those who have been waiting for this day for a while, any news is welcome news, and this might be just what you need. The question is, will we have a nice day? The answer is yes, if you don’t mid cooler than average temperatures and a brisk easterly wind.

Expect a partly cloudy to mostly sunny sky with afternoon highs ranging from the upper 30s to middle 40s. Winds will blow out of the east/northeast at about 20 to 30 miles per hour. Our sky will remain mostly clear overnight with lows ranging from the middle teens to middle 20s.

Friday, our first full day of spring will bring warmer highs and light winds with highs ranging from the middle 40s to lower 50s under a mostly sunny to partly cloudy sky.

The weekend is shaping up to be a nice one. We’ll see highs ranging from the upper 40s to lowest 50s for most locations. We’ll see a few scattered rain showers on Sunday, but otherwise the weekend should bring a mostly sunny to partly cloudy sky.

After a mostly cloudy, mild Monday it appears next week will be more active and cooler from Tuesday on, with highs in the 40s and chances os rain and snow showers.
